Mr. Absalom Obuya Illa is an Assistant Lecturer in the School of Agriculture, Food Security and Environmental Science of Maseno University, Kenya ; having risen through the ranks from the position of Technician in the Department of Horticulture. Mr. Illa holds a Master of Science Degree in Horticulture from Maseno University, a BSc. Degree in Horticulture from Egerton University, Kenya, a Diploma in Horticulture from Bukura Agricultural College, Kenya and is currently on study leave pursuing a PhD in Agronomy at Egerton University, Kenya. Mr. Illa has trained undergraduate students especially in the areas of Vegetable and Fruit Science, Plant Propagation and Scientific Research Projects and also served as a Departmental Examinations and Time-tabling coordinator. He has vast experience in Agricultural Field Experimentation and Data Management having worked earlier as a Research Assistant with the International Crops Research Institute for the Semi-Arid Tropics (ICRISAT).
