Dr. Ogello is a scholar and researcher, currently working in the Department of Animal and Fisheries Sciences, Maseno University, Kenya. He holds a PhD degree in Fisheries Science from Nagasaki University, Japan., Msc. degree in Aquaculture (Great Distinction) from Ghent University, Belgium, and Bsc. Degree in Fisheries (First Class Honors) from Moi University, Kenya. He has obtained professional training in Responsible Aquaculture Development at Wageningen University, The Netherlands, Aquaculture Production and Management at University of Jerusalem, Israel, Streams and River Ecology at Linchoping University, Sweden and Senior Management Course at the Kenya School of Government. He is an African Food Fellow, with specialized training under the African Food System and Leadership Fellowship Program by Wageningen University and research, the Netherlands. Dr. Ogello is a passionate crusader for productive and sustainable food systems within the framework of fisheries, aquaculture and related disciplines, through demand-driven research, training and advocacy. His research interests include Fisheries Science, Limnology, Aquaculture Value Chain (production, nutrition, post-harvest management, value addition and marketing), food systems and Blue Economy.  He has published over 70 scholarly articles in peer reviewed international journals, and presented talks and papers in several local and international scientific conferences. He is an Associate Editor for the Frontiers in Sustainable Food Systems – Aquatic Foods Journal and a reviewer in several international journals. He is also a member of Eastern African Water Association (EAWA) and Aquaculture Association of Kenya (AAK).
