PhD in Agricultural Extension
Dr. Daniel Osewe currently works at Maseno University as a lecturer in the Department of Agricultural Economics and Rural Development, School of Agriculture and Food Security. He holds a PhD in Agricultural Extension from Mahatma Phule Agricultural University, India, MSc in Agricultural Extension from Egerton University and BSc in Agriculture (Agricultural Economics Option) from University of Nairobi both in Kenya. He has acquired broad experiences in advance agricultural extension approaches, training technologies, organizational development, design and techniques in social science research and media management. Coordination and Management of Exams for undergraduate and Post Graduate students. Dr. Osewe has implemented a beekeeping livelihood programme with International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN) and South Nyanza Community Development Proramme (SNCDP)/International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD) in Mt. Elgon and Nyamira Districts respectively. Over the years, Osewe has been involved in planning, implementation, monitoring and evaluation of various dairy development programs under National Agriculture and Livestock Development Programme (NALEP) funded by Swedish International Development Agency (SIDA) and Smallholder Dairy Commercialization Proramme (SDCP) funded by IFAD. Daniel has also successfully carried out a baseline survey for Accelerated Value Chain Development (AVCD) Project on dairy for International Livestock Research Institute (ILRI) and presented a draft report using both qualitative and quantitative analytical tools such Invivo, Statistical Package for Social Sciences (SPSS) and Excel programs.
