Prof. Opala is an Associate Professor of Soil Science specializing in Soil Chemistry and Fertility Management. He has vast experience in teaching, having taught at Bukura Agricultural College, Moi University and Kabianga University College before Joining Maseno University in 2012. He is currently the Chair of the Postgraduate Committee of the School of Agriculture and Food Security.

Current Research; Co-investigator in Adaptive research on sorghum value chains in West Pokot County, 2020.

1. Integrated soil fertility management: Use of vermicompost and vermitea on vegetable production.
