Dr. Kenneth Sibiko is a Lecturer of Agricultural Economics in the School of Agriculture and Food Security, Maseno University, Kenya. He is also the current Chair of the Department of Agricultural Economics and Rural Development. He holds a PhD in Agricultural Economics from the University of Goettingen, Germany. He attended Bachelor and Masters studies at Egerton University, Kenya, in the areas of Agribusiness Management, and Agricultural and Applied Economics, respectively. He is a passionate researcher with vast experience in project development and implementation particularly in smallholder contexts in East Africa. He has worked in various international organizations such as Innovations for Poverty Action, World Food Programme, International Center for Tropical Agriculture (CIAT), African Economic Research Consortium (AERC), International Center for Research in Agroforestry (ICRAF), among others. From his research work has published many articles in peer reviewed journals and mentored students and junior staff in my field of agricultural economics. 

My current research interest is in promoting interventions that improve farmers’ resilience to climate related risks for improved productivity, food and nutrition security

Past Research Activities: 

1. 2017-2019 External research consultant with CIAT on Consumers willingness to pay for nutritious porridge flour in the slum areas of Nairobi and Kampala. 
2. 2017 External research consultant with ICRAF on Farmer preferences for Climate information services in Rwanda using Choice experiment approach.
3. 2014-2016 Doctoral research on smallholder farmers’ preferences in the design of weather index insurance products and the impact of index-based insurance uptake on input use and farm productivity.
